My late father's Seiko had stopped working and I was not sure if it could be saved. Encik Hafiz looked at it carefully, gave me a written report of what he found, and explained the options without any pressure. He recommended a full movement service. Three weeks later I collected it, and it has been running well since June. I was grateful for how they treated the watch — they understood it was not just a piece of machinery to us.

Brought in two watches at once — one needed a battery and seal check, the other had a case that had picked up quite a few scratches over the years. Both were done within two weeks. The staff kept replaced parts aside as they mentioned they would. The case refinishing on the older watch is very well done; they preserved the brushed finish on the lugs rather than over-polishing everything, which I appreciate.

Reliable and honest. I brought in my everyday quartz watch for a battery change and mentioned I had been wearing it in the pool. They checked the seals and found one was starting to degrade, which I would not have known. I was glad they flagged it before it became a bigger issue. The turn-around was quick and the price was exactly as quoted. Only minor note: parking nearby can be tricky on weekday mornings.

I have been bringing my watches here for four or five years. The consistency is what keeps me coming back. Encik Hafiz will always tell you directly if a service is not warranted — I once brought in a watch that he said did not need anything yet, and that kind of honesty is rarer than it should be. The mechanical service on my ETA-based piece was done properly; it has been accurate since.

The strap fitting and dial cleaning service was sensitively done. I was worried about them touching a very old dial but they discussed it with me first and made it clear they would only do what I agreed to. The result was a watch that looks much cleaner without losing any of its age. Small detail but they put the watch in a protective sleeve for the journey home — that kind of thoughtfulness says something about how they regard the pieces in their care.

Good experience overall. My automatic watch had not been serviced in some years and was running noticeably slow. After the overhaul it kept much steadier time. The written report was useful — I now understand what my watch actually needed and what was worn. The service took about ten days, which they told me upfront, so no surprises on that front. Would return when the next service is due.

Case studies

A closer look at three recent jobs

The challenge

An automatic movement running 4–5 minutes slow per day

Customer brought in a 1970s automatic dress watch. It was running but losing significant time. The movement had not been serviced for at least fifteen years. Dried lubricant was visible under low magnification.

What was done

Full movement service: disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, worn mainspring replaced, fresh lubricants applied at each friction point, and beat rate regulated on the timing machine across five positions. Owner approved the mainspring replacement from the condition report.

The outcome

Movement regulating to +4 seconds per day on completion — well within acceptable range for a movement of this age. Customer returned for a settling-in check two weeks later; timing remained stable. Service completed in 11 working days.

"I had given up hope it could keep proper time again."

The challenge

An inherited dive watch with compromised water resistance

Customer received their uncle's dive watch and wanted it restored to daily use. The crown gasket had been replaced elsewhere using a non-original part. On pressure testing, the case failed at well below the rated depth.

What was done

Battery renewal, correct-specification crown and caseback gaskets sourced and fitted, and a full pressure test to the original rated depth. Crystal had a surface scratch: polished rather than replaced, preserving the original crystal where possible at the customer's preference.

The outcome

Watch passed pressure test at rated depth. Customer was shown the old gaskets so the previous fault was visible. Service completed in 3 working days. Customer now wears the watch daily and plans to return for a full service when the battery next needs attention.

"They explained everything before touching it. That mattered to me."

The challenge

A sentimental gift watch with a worn bracelet and scratched case

Customer's watch was a gift from their spouse, worn daily for twelve years. The bracelet clasp had become loose and two links were stretched. The case had surface scratches and the crystal had one deep mark that distracted from the dial.

What was done

Bracelet inspected: two links replaced, clasp mechanism tightened and tested. Case brushed on the flat surfaces, polished only on the curved sections — matching the original finishing intent. Crystal replaced. Dial untouched as there was no damage requiring intervention.

The outcome

Watch collected after 7 working days. Customer noted the bracelet felt solid again and the crystal made a meaningful difference to the overall appearance. The character of twelve years of wear was retained on the case, as discussed. Total cost came in below the estimate.

"They listened to what I wanted kept and what I wanted fixed."
